Notes preferred by agents
Every agent demo hits the same wall: the model is clever, and it still does not know your decisions, research, or half-finished briefs. Teams paste context into the prompt. Or they bolt memory onto the chat product and hope the vendor’s silo is forever.
We think the durable answer is boring in the best way: ordinary markdown files on disk, in a folder the human already owns — and a clean way for agents to attach to that folder.
Two audiences, one folder
Markdown Locker is a Mac app for capture, explore, and think. It is also, deliberately,
a notes layer for agents. Same path: ~/Documents/Markdown Locker.
Humans use Capture and Workspace. Agents use MCP (today: filesystem scoped to that path;
next: a small Locker-native search/read server).
Grok is a natural first client — Grok Build already speaks MCP locally — but the protocol is bigger than one model. Cursor, Claude Code, and anything else that can run MCP can point at the same Locker.
Visibility without surrender
“Make agents see my notes” does not mean “upload the vault to the cloud.”
It means: local tools, user consent, read-first, path-scoped.
