Is Capture free?

Yes. Capture, Explore, and the browser extension stay free. Pro unlocks Think, live dictation, and multi-model settings.

Where are my files?

~/Documents/Markdown Locker — plain .md files. See Local-first.

Do you store my notes in the cloud?

No. Notes stay on your Mac. Model providers only see what is sent in a Think request when you use a key.

Is there a browser extension?

Yes — Chrome and Brave. Capture any page as Markdown into the same Locker folder the Mac app uses. See Browser extension.

Does the extension need the Mac app?

No. Without the app, notes save to Downloads/Markdown Locker/. With the app and host registered, “Add to Locker” writes silently into your real Locker folder.

macOS says it could not verify the app

Expected for the current download until Apple developer signing is finished. Open the app once, then go to System Settings → Privacy & Security, scroll down, and choose Open Anyway. Full steps: Getting started.

Why do I need an API key?

For model-powered Think (and AI Tidy / some dictation paths). We don’t resell tokens. API keys.

How does Pro unlock work?

Pay via Stripe in the app, then paste the license key we send. Pricing.

Can I use Obsidian or another editor on the same folder?

Yes. It’s a normal folder of markdown files.

Mac only?

The native app is Mac-first. The browser extension works in Chrome and Brave on any desktop OS; silent Locker integration currently targets the Mac host.
